The war against smudged ink is over as uni-ball, the leading brand in the UK rollerball market, announces the winner of its 'instant clarity' competition.
Michael Fallows, a sixth form student at Wilmslow High School, Cheshire wins the top prize of £2,000 to spend on a bedroom makeover thanks to the plight of his room at the hands of Smudge.
Smudge, a character used to front a nationwide campaign for clearer handwriting, demonstrates that in today's fast thinking and fast writing environments smudges can render work illegible.
Currently taking his A-levels, Michael plans to go to Cambridge University where he will use the prize money to kit out his student accommodation. His winning video entry was submitted via a uni Jetstream facebook group and shows the current state of his bedroom incorporating Smudge.
Stuart Barker, Marketing Manager at uni-ball, said: "Clear and legible handwriting counts for thousands of students currently attending school, college and university. Michael, like many others, are constantly called upon to write under pressure in classes, lectures and examinations.
"New generation pens like the uni Jetstream rollerball show busy teachers and students how to write quickly and clearly so that they can keep up with the pace," added Stuart. "Smooth to write with, uni Jetstream features our unique 'uni Super Ink' that dries quicker than other standard inks; making it smudge free and ideal for left-handed writers".
